What is Mobile Deposit?
Mobile Deposit is a service that lets you deposit checks into your Mountain Pacific Bank account using our MPB Mobile app and the camera on your mobile device. Here’s how it works:
- Sign your check and write “For Mobile Deposit at Mountain Pacific Bank” in the endorsement area.
- Log into the MPB Mobile app.
- Choose which account to deposit the check into.
- Enter your check amount.
- Take photos of the front and back.
- Review and submit.
Is Mobile Deposit included in Mountain Pacific Bank’s app or is there a separate app that must be used?
Mobile Deposit is integrated into our MPB Mobile app. Mobile Deposit Enroll is located under the Services tab in online banking.
Is the Mountain Pacific Bank app required in order to use the service?
Yes. You must download the MPB Mobile app to a camera-enabled Apple iOS or Android device. Mobile Deposit is not available via a computer or non-Apple iOS / Android device.
What type of devices or mobile operating systems is needed?
To deposit checks with Mobile Deposit, the device being used must have a rear-facing camera with a resolution of at least 5 megapixels. The following are supported:
- Android 5.x and later
- iOS versions 12.x and 13.x
- iOS 11.x has limited support
The following mobile operating systems are not compatible:
- Windows Phone®
- Blackberry®
- Kindle Fire™
Do I qualify for the service?
Mobile Deposit is available for consumer accounts only.
There are eligibility requirements that must be met at the time that you submit your enrollment request and that must be maintained to qualify for the service. These requirements can change at the sole discretion of Mountain Pacific Bank. Currently, the eligibility requirements are as follows:
- 18 years of age or older.
- Must be a customer for 90 days or more.
- Must have an eligible account type (Checking, Savings, Money Market, or Health Savings Account).
- All deposit accounts must be in good standing and an Open and Active status.
- All loans held with Mountain Pacific Bank must be current.
The following will make you ineligible for Mobile Deposit:
- 3 or more NSFs within the last 3 months.
- 6 or more NSFs within the last 6 months.
Are there deposit limits and/or check holds for deposits made through Mobile Deposit?
Yes. In order to maintain prudent risk standards, holds may be applied and are at the sole discretion of Mountain Pacific Bank. Standard limits are as follows:
- Per Deposit: $5,000.00
- Per Day: $10,000.00
- Rolling 30-Day: $50,000.00
Your limits are provided via email at the time your enrollment is approved. The Per Deposit limit can also be found within the MPB Mobile app by going to the Deposit Check screen located under the Accounts tab. There is no daily or monthly cap on the number of items you can deposit as long as the respective dollar limits are not exceeded.
Limits may be adjusted periodically at Mountain Pacific Bank’s discretion and/or upon your request.
How are my deposit limits determined?
Deposit limits may vary and are based on multiple factors, including your account type(s), deposit history and relationship with us.
Deposit limit definitions
Your Per Day limit is defined as the maximum amount you can deposit using your mobile device each business day (Monday through Friday, excluding holidays).
Your Rolling 30-Day deposit limit is defined as the maximum amount you can deposit using your mobile device for a 30-day period.
Is there a fee for this service?
No. This service is available to you free of charge; however, we reserve the right to change that at any time.
When will I get access to the service?
The Mobile Deposit service is a standard feature of consumer online banking via the MPB Mobile app. Mobile Deposit Enroll is located under the Services tab.
Enrollment Questions
How do I enroll in the service?
Mobile Deposit Enroll is located under the Services tab in online banking. After accepting the Mobile Deposit Terms and Conditions, additional steps are required to submit your enrollment:
- Log out and log back into mobile banking.
- From the Menu, select “Accounts”
- Click on “Deposit Check” from the drop-down list.
- The following message will appear indicating the enrollment has been submitted:
“ENROLLMENT REQUEST COMPLETE. Thank you for your interest in Mobile Deposit, your request is currently under review. You should receive a confirmation of enrollment form remotedeposit@mp.bank within 3 business days. For further information, please contact us at 425-263-3500 or via secure message in online banking.”
Once I submit my enrollment, how long does it take for Mountain Pacific Bank to approve the enrollment?
Up to 3 business days. Enrollments are typically completed within 24 hours unless the enrollment is submitted on a non-banking day.
How will I be notified of the decision regarding my enrollment request?
You will receive an email from remotedeposit@mp.bank confirming if the enrollment has been approved.
What can I do if my enrollment request is declined?
Review the eligibility requirements. Once you meet all eligibility requirements then you can submit a new enrollment request.
If I am approved, can Mountain Pacific Bank remove/change the functionality at a later time?
Yes. Mountain Pacific Bank reserves the right to remove or change the functionality at any time. Mountain Pacific Bank will periodically review accounts enrolled in Mobile Deposit to ensure you are maintaining all eligibility requirements.
Questions about Using the Service
Where do I go to access the service on my mobile device?
To make a deposit, go to the Deposit Check screen located under the Accounts tab.
Do I need to input any information about the check before taking a picture of it?
Yes. You must select the account you wish to deposit the check into and enter the dollar amount of the check.
Can I deposit any type of check?
No. Not all checks/items are eligible to be deposited through Mobile Deposit. Per the Mobile Deposit Terms and Conditions, the following items are not eligible for deposit:
- Any item payable to any person or entity other than you (payable to another party and then endorsed by you).
- Any item payable to you and another party who is not a joint owner on the account.
- Any item that contains evidence of alteration or that you know or suspect or should know or suspect are fraudulent or otherwise not authorized by the owner of the account on which the check is drawn.
- Any item that is stamped with a “non-negotiable” watermark.
- Any item issued by a Bank in a foreign country.
- Any item that is incomplete.
- Any item that is “stale dated” (date on check is more than 6 months prior to the date of deposit) or “postdated” (date on check is in the future).
- Any item previously converted to a substitute check, as defined in Federal Reserve Board Regulation CC.
- Any item that is drawn or otherwise issued by the U.S. Treasury Department.
- Money Orders, Travelers Checks, and/or Saving Bonds.
Must the check be made payable to the account holder?
Yes. The check must be made payable to the account holder or joint account holder.
What if my check amount is higher than my deposit limit?
There are other ways to deposit your check if your check limit is higher than your Mobile Deposit limit.
Visit a branch
Deposit your check at a Mountain Pacific Bank branch.
Mail it
If you’re unable to visit a branch, you can deposit your check by mailing it to us with a deposit slip. If you don’t have a deposit slip, you can simply write your account number on the check. Be sure to sign the back of your check before mailing.

Must the check be endorsed?
Yes. The check must be endorsed, and the endorsement must include “For Mobile Deposit at Mountain Pacific Bank”.
Am I required to capture an image of the front and back of the check, or just the front?
A clear image of both the front and back of the check must be taken and submitted.
Will the system reject an unclear image?
Yes. You will then have the option to take the picture again.
What account types can a deposit be made into?
Checking, Savings, Money Market, or Health Savings Account.
How will I know the check was deposited successfully?
You will receive a confirmation email upon successful transmission. You can also view the history of all your deposits by going to the Activity Center, located under the Accounts tab. On the Activity Center screen, there is a tab for Deposited Checks.
How will I know if my deposit has been accepted or rejected?
You will receive an email confirming if the deposit has been accepted or rejected. You can also view the history of all your deposits by going to the Activity Center, located under the Accounts tab. On the Activity Center screen, there is a tab for Deposited Checks.
What should I do if my deposit is declined?
We will send you an email explaining the reason(s) for the decline and what you should do next.
What should I do with my check after I deposit it?
You should securely store the paper check for 20 calendar days after the check has been deposited in case we need additional information.
Are funds immediately available after the item has been accepted?
No. Mobile check deposits are subject to holds at the sole discretion of Mountain Pacific Bank.
How will I know when the funds have been deposited into my account and are available for use?
You can see view your transaction history 24/7 through online banking. You will not receive a specific notification when funds from the deposit are made available.
How long will I have to wait after my deposit is completed for the funds to be available?
Typically, deposits made before 9:00 a.m. (PT) are credited to the account by 12:00 p.m. (PT), checks deposited between 9:00 a.m. (PT) and 4:00 p.m. (PT) are credited to the account by 7:00 p.m. (PT), and checks deposited after 4:00 p.m. (PT) are credited to the account by 12:00 p.m. (PT) the following business day. However, extended holds may be placed at the sole discretion of Mountain Pacific Bank.
Can I deposit a check to an account that is in a name other than mine?
You only have access to deposit a check into an account on which you are a signer. You can deposit a check to an account provided the check is made payable to a signer of the account the check is being deposited into and the check has been properly endorsed.
